Oct. 26 (Bloomberg) -- Slovak Economy Minister Pavol Rusko
comments on talks with Enel SpA about a sale of Slovenske
Elektrarne AS, Slovakia's biggest power producer.
Rusko spoke to journalists in the parliament in Bratislava.
``Minimum progress has been made'' since the start of the
talks with Enel two weeks ago. ``We still have a mandate to
negotiate for one more week. We will see if the position of the
investor changes'' in the final stage.
``If we do not see any will to accept our views, then there
is no reason for extending'' the deadlines for the talks. ``We
have to be convinced very soon that the positions'' of Enel ``are
changing. If the talks go like this for another three weeks, it
is a waste of time.''
On whether talks with Czech power company CEZ AS could start
instead:
``It is too early to say and I don't want to speculate.
Theoretically, there are two possibilities: to talk with the
bidder that placed second, or to terminate the sale.''
