FRANKFURT (MarketWatch) -- Volkswagen AG said Tuesday passenger car sales of its core brands rose nearly 15% on the year in November, with 452,900 vehicles delivered.
"The Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand performed well in November on world markets that were at times volatile and grew vehicle deliveries further," Volkswagen sales chief Christian Klingler said in a statement.
MAIN FACTS:
-In the January to November period, Volkswagen delivered 4.69 million vehicles, an increase of 12% on the year.
-Sales in the German home market increased nearly 11% on the year to 549,300 vehicles handed.
-In the Central and Eastern Europe region, sales increased nearly 48% to 195,800 vehicles and sales in Russia doubled to 104,200 vehicles from January to November.
-Volkswagen's Asia/Pacific sales rose 14% on the year to 1.8 million vehicles, of which 1.61 million units were delivered in China, a rise of 11%.
-Deliveries in the North American region rose nearly 23% to 448,500 vehicles from January to November.
