Export prices
In month-on-month comparison, export prices decreased by 0.3% (after exchange rate adjustment by 0.2%). The prices decreased significantly in ‘electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning’, ‘paper and paper products’ and in ‘other transport equipment’, by 15.8%, 1.2% and 0.9%, respectively. Significantly, prices increased in ‘waste collection, treatment and disposal services’, ‘coke and refined petroleum products’ and in ‘basic metals’, by 6.5%, 3.6% and 1.4%, respectively.

In year-on-year comparison, export prices decreased by 4.5% (after exchange rate adjustment by 0.7%). The prices decreased significantly in ‘electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning’, ‘coke and refined petroleum products’ and in ‘paper and paper products’, by 20.0%, 17.6% and 10.0%, respectively. The biggest increase was recorded in ‘products of forestry, logging and related services’ and in ‘wood and of products of wood and cork, except furniture’, by 13.7% and 6.0%, respectively.

Import prices
In month-on-month comparison, import prices decreased by 0.1% ( after exchange rate adjustment stayed the same). Significantly, prices decreased in ‘electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning’, ‘leather and related products’ and in ‘food products’, by 12.7%, 2.0% and 1.5%, respectively. The prices increased significantly in ‘coke and refined petroleum products’, ‘crude petroleum and natural gas’ and in ‘basic metals’, by 5.9%, 2.0% and 1.2%, respectively.

In year-on-year comparison , import prices decreased by 5.4% (after exchange rate adjustment by 1.6%). The prices decreased significantly in ‘crude petroleum and natural gas’, ’coke and refined petroleum products’ and in ‘electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning’, by 25.2%, 17.5% and 12.2%, respectively. The prices increased in ‘furniture’ and in ‘basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations’, by 2.0% and 0.7%, respectively.

“In February, export and import prices were influenced the appreciation of the koruna exchange rate against the euro and the dollar. In month-on-month comparison, export and import prices decreased by 0.3% and 0.1%, respectively. In year-on-year comparison, export and import prices decreased by 4.5% and 5.4%, respectively. In month-on-month comparison, the prices of electricity decreased in export by 15.8% and in import by 12.7% , ” Vladimír Klimeš, Head of the Industrial and International Trade Prices Statistics Unit of the Czech Statistical Office, noted.

The terms of trade
In month-on-month comparison, the terms of trade reached the value of 99.7% (100.2% in January). Significant negative value reached ‘electricity’ (96.4%) and positive value reached ‘computer, electronic and optical products’ (101.4%).

In year-on-year comparison, the terms of trade reached the value of 101.0% (101.8% in January). Significant positive value reached ‘wood and of products of wood and cork, except furniture’ (107.5%) and negative value reached ‘electricity’ (91.1%).
