Industrial production in February 2026 was in real terms by 1.3% higher, m-o-m. In the year-on-year comparison, it increased by 1.3%. “Industrial production continued to grow in February. Manufacture of fabricated metal products and car industry contributed the most to a positive result. In the negative direction, the development was influenced the most by electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, where mainly planned shutdowns in some power plants were reflected,” Radek Matějka, Director of the Agricultural and Forestry, Industrial, Construction, and Energy Statistics Department of the Czech Statistical Office (CZSO), says. Growth in manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products was partially influenced by a low comparison basis from the previous year.

The value of new orders at current prices in surveyed industrial CZ-NACE activities in February 2026 increased by 1.6%, y-o-y. New non-domestic orders increased by 2.5%, y-o-y, domestic new orders recorded a decrease by 0.3%. In the month-on-month comparison, the value of new orders was by 6.0% lower, namely due to a high January comparison basis in car industry. “The year-on-year growth of the value of new industrial orders was influenced the most by manufacture of machinery and equipment, where there were more orders heading, for example, to the energy sector or to construction,” Veronika Doležalová, Head of the Industrial Statistics Unit of the CZSO, says. When compared to February 2025, the value of new orders decreased in the car industry, chemical industry, paper and textile industry.
