Overview
In February 2026, compared with January 2026, industrial producer prices decreased by 0.7% in the euro area and by 0.5% in the EU, according to first estimates from Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union. In January 2026, industrial producer prices grew by 0.8% in both the euro area and the EU.
In February 2026, compared with February 2025, industrial producer prices decreased by 3.0% in the euro area and by 2.7% in the EU.

Monthly comparison by main industrial grouping and by Member State
In the euro area in February 2026, compared with January 2026, industrial producer prices
increased by 0.3% for intermediate goods,
decreased by 2.4% for energy,
increased by 0.3% for capital goods,
increased by 0.2% for durable consumer goods,
decreased by 0.2% for non-durable consumer goods.
Prices in total industry excluding energy increased by 0.1%.
In the EU, industrial producer prices
increased by 0.3% for intermediate goods,
decreased by 1.8% for energy,
increased by 0.2% for capital goods,
increased by 0.3% for durable consumer goods,
decreased by 0.2% for non-durable consumer goods.
Prices in total industry excluding energy increased by 0.1%.
The largest monthly decreases in industrial producer prices were recorded in Spain (-3.1%), Ireland (-2.6%) and Portugal (-1.8%). The highest increases were observed in Croatia (+3.8%), Finland (+2.7%) and Lithuania (+1.8%).

decreased by 11.7% for energy,
increased by 1.6% for capital goods,
increased by 2.5% for durable consumer goods,
increased by 0.2% for non-durable consumer goods.
Prices in total industry excluding energy increased by 1.0%.
In the EU, industrial producer prices
increased by 1.0% for intermediate goods,
decreased by 10.5% for energy,
increased by 1.5% for capital goods,
increased by 2.3% for durable consumer goods,
increased by 0.2% for non-durable consumer goods.
Prices in total industry excluding energy increased by 0.9%.
The largest annual decreases in industrial producer prices were recorded in Spain (-7.0%), Ireland (-4.6%) and Portugal (-4.5%). The highest increases were observed in Bulgaria (+9.2%), Finland (+7.9%) and Sweden (+3.5%).

Revisions and timetable
Compared with data issued in the News Release of 4 March 2026, the monthly percentage increase for January 2026 has been revised from +0.7% to +0.8% in the euro area and remained unchanged at +0.8% in the EU. The annual percentage decrease has been revised from -2.1% to -2.0% in the euro area and remained unchanged at -1.9% in the EU.
Methods and definitions
The index of producer prices shows (in the national currency of the country concerned) changes in the ex-works sale prices of all products sold on the domestic market, excluding imports. Euro area and EU indices refer to overall weighted price changes. The figures are not calendar day or seasonally adjusted.
Total industry covers NACE rev.2 sections B to D + E36.
