Commission clears acquisition of Leggett & Platt by Somnigroup

The European Commission has approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the acquisition of sole control of Leggett & Platt, Incorporated (‘Leggett & Platt') by Somnigroup International Inc. (‘Somnigroup'), both of the US.

The transaction relates primarily to the design, manufacturing and distribution of bedding products, furniture, flooring, and textile products.

The Commission concluded that the notified transaction would not raise competition concerns, given the companies' limited individual and combined market positions resulting from the proposed transaction. The notified transaction was examined under the simplified merger review procedure.
