Export and Import Fuel Prices Increased

In March 2026, month-on-month export prices increased by 1.6%, in year-on-year comparison decreased by 1.8%. Import prices increased month-on-month by 2.5%, year-on-year comparison decreased by 2.0%. The terms of trade reached month-on-month the value of 99.2%, year-on-year 100.2%.

Export prices
In month-on-month comparison, export prices increased by 1.6% ( after exchange rate adjustment by 0.8% ). The prices increased significantly in ‘coke and refined petroleum products’, ‘electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning’ and in ‘computer, electronic and optical products’, by 33.0%, 7.1% and 2.9%, respectively. The prices decreased in ‘products of forestry, logging and related services’ and in ‘furniture’, by 0.9% and 0.8%, respectively.
In year-on-year comparison, export prices decreased by 1.8% (after exchange rate adjustment increased by 0.7%). The prices decreased significantly in ‘ paper and paper products ’, ‘chemicals and chemical products’ and in ‘food products’, by 8.2%, 7.9% and 6.9%, respectively. Significantly, prices increased in ‘coke and refined petroleum products’ and in ‘products of forestry, logging and related services’, by 19.2% and 12.8%, respectively.
Import prices
In month-on-month comparison, import prices increased by 2.5% ( after exchange rate adjustment by 1.7% ). Significantly, prices increased in ‘coke and refined petroleum products’, ‘crude petroleum and natural gas’ and in ‘chemicals and chemical products’, by 44.4%, 19.0% and 2.4%, respectively. The prices decreased in ‘electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning’ and in ‘wearing apparel’ by 2.3% and 2.0%, respectively.
In year-on-year comparison , import prices decreased by 2.0% (after exchange rate adjustment increased by 0.5%). The prices decreased significantly in ‘wearing apparel’, ’textiles’ and in ‘food products’, by 9.8%, 6.9% and 6.2%, respectively. Significantly, prices increased in ‘coke and refined petroleum products’ and in ‘electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning’, by 29.6% and 6.6%, respectively.
“In March, export and import prices were influenced by the development of the koruna exchange rate against the euro and the dollar and by the growth of global oil prices. In month-on-month comparison, export and import prices increased by 1.6% and 2.5%, respectively. In year-on-year comparison, export and import prices decreased by 1.8% and 2.0%, respectively. In month-on-month comparison, the prices of ‘coke and refined petroleum products’ increased significantly in export by 33.0% and in import by 44.4% , ” Vladimír Klimeš, Head of the Industrial and International Trade Prices Statistics Unit of the Czech Statistical Office, noted.
The terms of trade
In month-on-month comparison, the terms of trade reached the value of 99.2% (99.7% in February). Significant negative value reached ‘coke and refined petroleum products’ (92.1%) and positive value reached ‘electricity’ (109.6%).
In year-on-year comparison, the terms of trade reached the value of 100.2% (101.0% in February). Significant positive value reached ‘wood and of products of wood and cork, except furniture’ (107.3%) and negative value reached ‘coke and refined petroleum products’ (92.0%).
