March 25 3:00pm ET - It's windy out there currently and we'll likely see wind gusts strengthen a little bit more through the afternoon and early evening as a cold front slowly approaches the region. These are the updated peak wind gusts we're expecting through Tuesday morning across the area. These strong winds, combined with the high tide cycle early Tuesday morning and again early Tuesday afternoon, could bring minor coastal flooding up to 1 or 2 feet along the Franklin, Wakulla, and Jefferson county coastlines.

This cold front is expected to approach the area through Tuesday and eventually stall or slow down considerably into Wednesday. As the front slows down, and moisture increases from the south, expect a big increase in the rain chances, especially late Tuesday and through much of Wednesday. In addition to a concern for some strong storms, with a few possibly being severe, heavy rain potential will become a concern when the front stalls. Widespread rainfall amounts are forecast to be between 2 and 4 inches, but isolated higher amounts of 5"+ are possible, but that will depend on how storms evolve along the stalling cold front. We'll have updates through the next few days as the system draws closer.
