Heavy to Excessive rainfall is expected for the Mid-Atlantic to Northeast Coast. Portions of southern New England will have prolonged rainfall and combined with periods of high rainfall rates could lead to 5-7" of rain and flash and river floods. Heavy snow will develop over parts of the higher elevations of New York State and northern New England this evening into Monday. Snow will also develop over parts of the Central Appalachians.
There are severe weather concerns from the Mid-Atlantic down to the Southeast Coast where damaging wind gusts and a few tornadoes are possible over portions of the eastern Carolinas and southeastern Virginia and portions of northern Florida and far southern Georgia. Additionally, heavy rain in the eastern Gulf Coast will create mainly localized areas of flash flooding.
A Pacific system will continue to produce rain and high-elevation snow over parts of the Pacific Northwest through late Monday afternoon.
