Current scope of visa services at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Hanoi

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Hanoi has resumed selected visa services since May 11th, 2020, and has been gradually extending their scope in accordance with the provisions of the Protective Measure of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic no. MZDR 20599/2020- /MIN/KAN.

The overview of Czech embassies abroad which continue suspending their visa services or have partially or fully resumed their visa services may be found at the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.

For the updated text of the Protective measure of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic determining the conditions for entry in the Czech Republic as well as the scope of visa practices of the Czech embassies abroad kindly see the article Rules for entering the Czech Republic.

In order to ensure safety for both applicants and the consular staff, specific measures as well application number daily limits will be applied with regards to the submission of below stated visa applications. All applicants are requested to enter the embassy with a facemask. Bodily temperature may be measured. Applicants are kindly requested not to present the application documentation in plastic folders. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Scope of resumed operations:

SCHENGEN VISA:

  • receipt of visa applications from family members (as per the definition in § 15a , article 1 or article 2, letter b) of Law no. 326/1999 Coll.) of Czech citizens and EU citizens living in the Czech territory,
  • receipt of visa applications from individuals whose entry is in the interest of the Czech Republic,
  • receipt of visa applications from diplomats and officials working for international organizations,
  • receipt of visa applications in emergency situations,
  • receipt of visa applications from other applicants as per the Protective Measure of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic no. MZDR 20599/2020- /MIN/KAN (the following purposes are not included: invitation, tourism, family/friends visit, business - except for key company personnel and experts).

In case of purpose of employment, seasonal works, study, training, scientific research, etc. the applicants are as of July 13th, 2020, obliged to present upon visa applications submission a declaration from their employer/educational institution.

The admission of new Schengen visa applications for other purposes than those mentioned above remains suspended.


LONG-TERM VISA AND RESIDENCE PERMITS:

With effect from 30 September 2021, according to the latest protective measure of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic, embassies of the Czech Republic in third countries have fully resumed the agenda of long-term visa applications and residence permits applications.

Please note that third-country nationals who intend to enter the Czech Republic for employment should no later than before issuing a long-term visa or a visa for the purpose of taking over a residence permit submit an up-to-date employer's confirmation that the employer will employ foreigners if their long-term visa application or residence permits application was submitted more than 90 days ago.

The document does not need to be submitted in the original, it can be sent to the applicant by the employer in the form of a scan by e-mail - for the purpose of submitting the document to the embassy, print a scan and an accompanying email.

Visa stamping:

From October 27, 2021, a visa will be stamped to a travel document at embassies of the Czech Republic in third countries only in the case of applications which can be accepted according to point I.13 of the latest protective measure of the Ministry of Health or in case according to point I. 14 of the latest protective measure of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic.

Please note that third-country nationals who intend to enter the Czech Republic for employment should no later than before issuing a long-term visa or a visa for the purpose of taking over a residence permit submit an up-to-date employer's confirmation that the employer will employ foreigners if their long-term visa application or residence permits application was submitted more than 90 days ago.
