COVID-19: Traveling to the Czech Republic during the pandemic

As of October 27, 2021 the updated rules for entry or return to the Czech Republic apply.

As of Monday August, 23, 2021, the USA is considered as a country with a very high risk of COVID-19 ("dark red country"). Please follow our website for any updates (especially related to the vaccinated persons traveling to the Czech Republic)

From Wednesday, October 27, 2021, passengers from the USA will be again obliged:

  • to undergo a RT-PCR test 72 hours or less prior to departure to the Czech Republic; with a negative test result (antigen test is not sufficient) and

  • to possess the filled-in Passenger Form and

  • to undergo a RT-PCR test no erlier than the 5th day and no later than the 14th day after entry the Czech Republic and

  • always wear a respirator or similar device (without an exhalation valve) when leaving the place of residence or accommodation.

 

DIFFERENT CONDITIONES FOR VACINATED PERSONS

 

are obliged ONLY to possess the filled-in the Passenger Form. These vacinated person are not obliged to undergo a RT-PCR test before and after arriving to the Czech Republic. There is also no obligation of self-isolation for these vacinated persons.

There are no direct flights between the US and the Czech Republic. Please check first with transit countries whether you will be allowed to travel to the Czech Republic and back to the USA.

Please check in advance with your airlines and transit countries for their sanitary regulations (testing for COVID-19, vaccination, face covering, etc.)!

If you stay longer than 12 hours in the last 14 days prior to the arrival to the Czech Republic in a country that is not considered by the Czech Ministry of Health as a green country, there are specific additional obligations prescribed by the Protective measure of the Ministry (testing, obligation to complete a Public Health Locator Form, self-isolation).

Before the trip from the USA to the Czech Republic, check with the airlines and find their conditions for accepting passengers on board and the conditions for transit at transfer airports (possible need to submit the test result for COVI-19, wearing respiratory protective equipment, etc.).
