Leprosy Disposal (LL) was established by the Archbishop of Prague as an independent church organization to help treat infectious diseases in the Third World, including in Ganta (Nimba district), in Liberia, Africa. The founder is the Liberian government, but the local diocese is responsible for its operation, which is the main guarantor of the project. Liberia is a country that is still recovering from its war history, so there is no national program to control and treat leprosy. This underlines the importance of the center in Ganta, where there are on average 40 patients with leprosy and 50 patients with TB, buruli, HIV and malaria. In Liberia, the stigmatization of leprosy still persists, and therefore, in addition to treatment, rehabilitation center staff actively seek out patients on field trips and engage in educational activities at schools and public gatherings.
